We’re one week in…

24 May

Well, here we are a week into our adventure, and we’ve had an amazing time. Spent the first four days playing at WDW. Then we were off to Tampa to spend a few days at our favorite B&B, with Debbie West, John West, and the kids. We had some amazing meals and even got to cook for them one night. Yesterday we began looking at and eliminating some area apartment for the big move, made a run to the MK, and then we moved on to our Lakeland hotel for Geo Woodstock XI, and spent the evening chatting with some cachers from around the country and even one from Switzerland. Today we got up and looked at another apartment community, that moved to the top of the list even before we got out of the car, The Glen at Cagan Crossing in Clermont. We have a couple of others to look at, but just to make sure. Tonight is check-in for the event, and then we’re heading to the Studios for some Hyperspace Hoopla, and MK ’til we can’t party no more. Things are really starting to fall into place.

Sounds fishy to me…

Day 3 recap. Got up and had a less than amazing continental breakfast at our less than luxury hotel. Got out and hit DTD to pick up a bucket of Lego for J’s nephew. Hit the 7-11 for some Pball tickets, and then parked at EPCOT, made a PS for dinner at Marakesh, and jumped on the Monorail to head over to MK for the afternoon. Had our 2nd Dole Whip of the trip, hit the Haunted Mansion, and walked around a bit. Back to the Monorail for the return to EPCOT, where we rode Spaceship Earth, and the grabbed our 3rd Dole Whip (this one with the spiced rum) and partook of the Perry game in the UK. Went and had dinner, which was AMAZING, even though after Novus Sanctum, the belly dancer was entertaining, but no match. After tearful Illuminations (Don’t judge me, it was our wedding recessional). We headed off to find some blister Band-Aids, which brought us to the Walgreen’s with the fresh sushi daily, across for Sea World (still sounds fishy to me). And back to the hotel to watch Doctor Who and pass out. We met some great new people today, and can’t wait to make this our home.

4 May

There comes a time when one must take a step back and look where their life has taken them, and what the future holds. As approach 40 years on this great Earth, I look and see that my path must change. For the last 13 years I have been watching my place of employment go from a thriving entertainment venue, to a dying ghost town. And my wife and I decided that it was time to make some drastic changes. It is with a heavy heart, that I spend my last night here. I will greatly miss my work family, but not the job itself, and I think that speaks volumes. We are planning a couple of trips across this great country of ours before settling down and getting back to the daily grind. We have nothing lined up, and that is terrifying. But I am sure with God’s hand on us, we will persevere. We will be sharing our adventures here, as well as any other thoughts that should creep into the muddled mess, that is my brain.

Until next time, I remain,
